מתחילת המלחמה, החיים של כל אחד מאתנו השתנו. בהתחלה הייתה תחושה של תנועה ספירלית עם אפשרות לשנוי המסלול וקוטר התנועה, אך במהירות רבה נכנסנו למעגל של השגרה החדשה, בה האירועים כמעט צפויים וחוזרים על עצמם. הקוטר של התנועה התכווץ עד מעגלים צפופים מאוד, ללא אפשרות לפרצה.

מעגלי בריחה – זוהי תערוכה של שני אמנים הפועלים במדיות שונות. כל אחד מהם מציע מספר תגובות על המציאות ומעגלי תנועה בה. למעשה, המרחב המשותף הוא המאחד בין עבודתם. חיים סוקול – אמן היוצר מיצבים פיסוליים המבוססים על זיכרונות, ואוסי ולד – במאית אנימציה, המציגה רשומות יומן מונפשות מהשנה האחרונה בפורמט של מיצב וידאו.

Since the beginning of the war, each of our lives has changed. At first, there was a sense of a spiral movement, with the possibility of changing direction and adjusting the diameter of the motion. But very quickly, we found ourselves trapped in the cycle of a new routine, where events became almost predictable and repetitive. The diameter of our movement shrank into dense circles, leaving no room for an exit.

Escape Circles is an exhibition featuring two artists working in different mediums, each offering a unique response to reality and its cyclical motion. Their shared space is what unites their work. Haim Sokol is a visual artist who creates sculptural installations based on memory, while Ossi Wald, an animation director, presents diary-like animated sequences from the past year as a video installation.

חיים סוקול

חיים סוקול הוא אמן חזותי, משורר וכותב טקסטים. הוא יוצר מיצבים, פסלים, וידאו ומופעים. עבודתו עוסקת בנושאים של ניכור, בידוד והתפוררות של קשרים בעולם המודרני. סוקול עובד עם ארכיונים ומסמכים פרטיים כדי להציג את ההיסטוריה של המאה ה-20 דרך הפריזמה של חיי היחיד, וחוקר את סוגיות הזיכרון ההיסטורי ואת הסביבה החברתית-פוליטית העכשווית.

תערוכות יחיד שלו התקיימו בגלריות ובמרכזי תצוגה מובילים במוסקבה ובסנט פטרסבורג, בהם גלריית טרטיאקוב ,המוזיאון לאמנות מודרנית של מוסקבה, CCI Fabrika, Stella Art Foundation, M&J Guelman Gallery, Triumph and Anna Nova Gallery.

הוא השתתף בתערוכות רבות ברוסיה ובעולם, כולל הביאנלה השנייה בקייב (2015), הביאנלה הראשונה בהודו בקוצ'י-מוזיריס (2012), ביאנלת Mediations בפוזנן (2010), הביאנלה השלישית לאמנות עכשווית במוסקבה (2009) והביאנלה השנייה לאמנות עכשווית בסלוניקי (2009).

Haim Sokol

Haim Sokol is a visual artist, poet, and writer. He creates installations, sculptures, videos and performances addressing themes of alienation, isolation, and the erosion of relations in the modern world. He works with archives and private documents in order to represent the history of the 20th century through the lens of individual lives, exploring issues of historical memory and modern socio-political environment.

He has had solo exhibitions has exhibited in prominent galleries and venues in Moscow and St. Petersburg including the Tretyakov State Gallery, Moscow Museum of Modern Art, CCI Fabrika, Stella Art Foundation, M&J Guelman Gallery, Triumph and Anna Nova Gallery.

He has participated in numerous shows both in Russia and internationally, including the 2nd Kyiv Biennial (2015), 1st Indian Biennale in Kochi-Muziris (2012), Mediations Biennale (Poznan, 2010), 3rd Moscow Biennale of Contemporary Art (2009), 2nd Biennale of Contemporary Art in Thessalonica (2009).

אוסי ולד

אוסי ולד היא יוצרת אנימציה ומרצה במחלקה לאמנויות המסך בבצלאל הפועלת על התפר שבין אנימציה ניסיונית, מחול וקולנוע.

בין עבודותיה, סרט דוקו-אנימציה אשר נמכר לשידור בערוץ הסטרימינג של הניורקר, מיצב אנימציה שהוקרן על חוף הים, מחקר אנימטיבי של ארכיון הקטלוגים של מוזיאון ישראל, עבודת מחול שבה היא מפעילה קופסת אנימציה קסומה ועוד.

עבדה כחלק מצוות האנימציה של "ואלס עם באשיר" ו"כנס העתידנים" בבימויו של ארי פולמן, כאנימטורית בסדרה "תשע נשמות" של ניר וגלי ועוד.

Osi Wald

Osi Wald is an animation artist and lecturer at the Screen-Based Arts Department of Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design (Jerusalem), working at the intersection of experimental animation, dance, and film.

Her work includes a documentary animation film acquired by The New Yorker for streaming, an animation installation projected on a beach, an animated exploration of the Israel Museum’s catalog archives, and a dance piece featuring a magical animation box.

She was part of the animation team for Waltz with Bashir and The Congress, both directed by Ari Folman, as well as an animator for the series Nine Souls by Nir & Gali, among other projects.
