בתערוכה זו, שתוצג בגלריה: Wild Gallery בירושלים בינואר 2024, משתתפים שני אמנים רב-תחומיים: מקס אפשטיין וחוה רוכלין.

מקס אפשטיין מציג מגדל שמירה שקרס תחתיו. באמצעות קריסת המגדל מבטא מקס את עמדתו לגבי המציאות הנוכחית הקשה שבה אנו שרויים מאז ה-7 לאוקטובר. על סולם המגדל, שאיבד את תכליתו המקורית, מוקמה ׳הצעדה׳- סדרת פסלי עץ בת שני חלקים שיצר אפשטיין לפני ואחרי פרוץ המלחמה.

חוה רוכלין מציעה בתערוכה שני מיצגי וידאו. במיצג הוידאו הראשי אובייקט ההתבוננות - הציפורים - לא נראה. הדמות המתבוננת הופכת אט אט בעצמה לאובייקט ההתבוננות ו"משחקת" את כל התפקידים במעשה ההתבוננות. ההתבוננות עצמה, הופכת למעין צלילה עמוקה מאד לעולם קשוב, מדיטטיבי, פנימי ומלא חיים ושפיות, בניגוד לכל הרעש הכאוטי המתחולל במציאות העכשווית.

Max Epstein exhibits a collapsed watchtower. By collapsing the tower Epstein expresses his stance towards the harsh reality that we find ourselves living in since Oct 7. On the tower's ladder, which has lost its original purpose, now stands The Procession, a two part series of wooden sculptures, made before and after the beginning of the war

Hava Rokhlin presents two video works. In the first work the object of observation, the birds, is not seen. The figure observing the birds slowly becomes herself the object of observation. Through the act of observation one is submerged in a quiet and meditative world full of life and clarity, in opposition to the external chaos of our current reality.

חוה רוכלין

חוה רוכלין היא במאית וצלמת מירושלים. היא צילמה מספר סרטים דוקומנטריים שהוקרנו בטלוויזיה ובפסטיבלים בארץ ובעולם. היא ביימה קליפים, סדרות רשת וסרטים קצרים. סרטה הקצר האחרון- ׳ויקי יוצאת להשתלמות׳, הוקרן בפסטיבל חיפה, בפסטיבל סרטי הנשים בירושלים ובפלטפורמות נוספות. עבודותיה הן לעתים קרובות מבוססות מקום ועוסקות בחקירה והתבוננות על המרחב והדמויות המאכלסות אותו.

Hava Rokhlin

Hava Rokhlin is a film director and cinematographer from Jerusalem. She shot a few documentary films that were screened on tv and festivals in Israel and in Europe. She directed videoclips, web series and short films. Her recent short film - 'Vicky's Day Off', was screened in the Haifa Film Festival, in Jerusalem Women's Film Festival and in various other platforms. Her work is often location based, and deals with observation and exploration of a chosen space and the characters that inhabit it.

מקס אפשטיין

מקס אפשטיין - אמן רב תחומי. עלה לישראל ב-1990 בגיל 16, מרוסיה ומאז חי ופעיל בירושלים.

(MFA) ובעל תואר שני באמנות (BA) בוגר בצלאל​ ומאוניברסיטת חיפה. מקס הציג 23 תערוכות יחיד והשתתף בתערוכות קבוצתיות רבות בארץ ובעולם. ביניהן תערוכות במוזיאון וילפריד ישראל, מוזיאון בת ים, המוזיאון לאתנוגרפיה רוסית (בסנט פטרסבורג), מוזיאון ישראל (בית טיכו). הוא בונה מיצבים טוטליים, תלויי מקום, הכוללים מדיות שונות של אמנות פלסטית (צילום, רישום, פיסול, אנימציה, סאונד). מקס אצר 19 תערוכות ויזם פרויקטים אמנותיים במרחב הירושלמי ובחו''ל. ביניהם, פרויקט אמנותי-קהילתי אשר עוסק בחינוך ואנימציה בשיטה חדשנית. הפרויקט הוא למעשה סטודיו אנימציה לילדים ונוער ששמו "ילדי פרא". הסטודיו קיים כבר כ-15 שנים והפך לבית השני עבור יותר מ-400 ילדים ירושלמים. מקס מורה פעיל בסטודיו מהיום הראשון בו הסטודיו קיים.1

אפשטיין קיבל פרס ע''ש מרדכי איש-שלום על תרומה מיוחדת לאמנות, ופרס שרת העלייה והקליטה ע''ש יורי שטרן בתחום הפיסול.

מאז 2023, מקס אפשטיין הוא המייסד והמנהל האמנותי של Wild Gallery בירושלים.

Max Epstein

Max Epstein is a multidisciplinary artist. At the age of 16, he immigrated to Israel from Russia in 1990 and has lived and worked in Jerusalem ever since.

He graduated from Bezalel Academy (BA) and received a Master of Arts (MFA) from the University of Haifa. Max presented 23 solo exhibitions and participated in many group exhibitions in Israel and around the world. Among them are exhibitions at the Wilfrid Israel Museum, the Bat Yam Museum, the Russian Ethnography Museum (St. Petersburg), the Israel Museum (Tycho House). He builds total installations that are site-specific and include various visual art media — such as, photography, drawing, sculpture, animation, and sound. Max has curated 19 exhibitions and initiated artistic projects in the Jerusalem area and abroad. Among them, there was an artistic-community project dealing with education and animation using an innovative method. Specifically, the project is an animation studio for children and youth called "Wild Kids". This animation studio has been around for 15 years and has become a second home for more than 400 Jerusalem children. Max has served as an active teacher in this studio from its inception. Epstein received the Mordechai Ish-Shalom Prize for a special contribution to art, and the Minister of Aliyah and Integration’s Yuri Stern Prize To Oleh Artists for his sculpture work.

Since 2024, Max Epstein has been the founder and artistic director of Wild Gallery in Jerusalem.
