עיר האיזמרגד, מושא מאוויינו הגלויים, חלומותינו, ותקוותינו הכמוסות. לשם נוליך את רגלינו ודמיוננו בדרך אל האושר, שם נמצא אומץ, רגש, תבונה. משם מתחילה הדרך אל הבית שאבד לנו.

שתי אמניות מזמינות אותנו למסע אל עיר האיזמרגד, רוקמות את תשוקתן למעשה האמנות, ברישום, בצילום, בפיסול ובתנועה. שתי אחיות, מבטן חלומי, אניגמטי, פנטסטי, מאיים או מאוים, מחזיק רגש חם, חומל ואוהב חיים.

עבודתן של קרינה ורנאטה מורכבת ורב תחומית במהותה, מרובת חומרים ופנים, ומתכתבת באופן עקבי עם פעולתן במרחב של הנפשה. הן מפיחות חיים בחפצים דוממים, מפרקות את המציאות למבטים בודדים ועוקבים, פריים אחר פריים, בונות אותה מחדש בעשייה מחושבת. כך אצל קרינה בכפות העץ הלובשות דמות אנוש קיקלופית המציעות לנו מבט חלומי אל העבר, וכך אצל רנאטה, המביימת שורה של סרטים עם פריים אחד בודד ומוקפד, מנפישה אותו באמצעות תנועה בלתי נשלטת או הכפלת הדימוי. עבודותיהן נגלות לעינינו, פעם כמתווה הכנה לסרט, סקיצה לדימוי שבחר לצאת ולהיתלות על הקיר, פעם כדימוי עצמאי.

עיר האיזמרגד עצמה, אינה שונה במאום מכל עיר אחרת, אלא שהחובה להרכיב משקפיים ירוקות הופכת אותה לעיר נוצצת בירוק האיזמרגד. כמה מופלא הוא המעשה האמנותי, שבשונה מאשלייתה של העיר הירוקה, מעניק לנו מבט אחר, מרחיב את הלב, מזין את נפש, מציע עושר ומורכבות - מכאובים, פחדים, יופי ואהבה, מפנה את מבטנו פנימה אל תוך הנפש, שם ודאי נוכל למצוא אומץ, תבונה ורגש, ואת תחילתה של דרך ארוכה הביתה.

Emerald City, the object of our desires, dreams, and hidden hopes. It is the place we set our feet and our imagination on the path to happiness. There, we hope to find courage, emotion, and wisdom. From there begins the journey back to the home we have lost.

Two artists invite us on a journey to the Emerald City, weaving their passion for art through drawing, photography, sculpture, and movement. Two sisters, born from a dreamy, enigmatic, fantastic, and sometimes menacing realm that also holds warmth, compassion, and a love of life.

The work of Karina and Renata is inherently complex and multidisciplinary, rich in materials and perspectives, consistently engaging with animation-like creation. They breathe life into inanimate objects, deconstruct reality into isolated and sequential views, frame by frame, rebuilding it through thoughtful craftsmanship. Karina transforms wooden spoons into Cyclopean human figures, offering us a dreamlike gaze into the past. On the other hand, Renata directs a series of films from a single meticulous frame, animating it through uncontrollable movement or duplicating the image. Their works reveal themselves to us at times as preparatory sketches for films, as drafts for images that choose to step out and hang on the wall, and at other times as independent, self-contained compositions.

Emerald City itself is no different from any other city, except for the necessity of wearing green glasses, which turns it into a city sparkling with emerald green. How wondrous is the artistic act, which, unlike the illusion of the green city, offers us a different view, one that expands the heart, nourishes the soul, and presents richness and complexity—pain, fears, beauty, and love. It redirects our gaze inward, into the depths of the soul, where we may surely find courage, wisdom, emotion, and the beginning of a long journey home.

רנאטה ריבקין-גל

אמנית צילום. בוגרת בצלאלא - BA צילום, ו MA לימודי מגדר באוניברסיטת ת''א. מציגה את עבודותיה החל מ-2011, לתקופה חברת גלריית אגריפס 12 והגלריה החדשה בטדי. היום גרה ויוצרת בירושלים.

Renata Rivkin-Gal

Renata Rivkin-Gal is a photographer. She holds a BA in Photography from Bezalel Academy and an MA in Gender Studies from Tel-Aviv University. She has been exhibiting her works since 2011. She was a member of Agripas 12 Gallery and the New Gallery at Teddy Stadium. Today, she lives and works in Jerusalem.

קרינה חננייה

קרינה חננייה משלבת ביצירתה רישום, צילום, אנימציה ומחול בוטו. מציגה את עבודותיה בארץ ובחו''ל החל מ-2013. BA בתנועה וכוריאוגרפיה מ JAMD, MFA קולנוע מספיר. מתרגלת מחול בוטו החל מ-2018. מנחה ומנהלת שותפה בסטודיו לאנימציה WILD KIDS.

Karina Hananeia 

Karina Hananeia integrates drawing, photography, animation, and Butoh dance in her work. She has been exhibiting her art in Israel and abroad since 2013. She holds a BA in Movement and Choreography from the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance (JAMD) and an MFA in Film from Sapir College.

Karina has been practicing Butoh dance since 2018. She is also a mentor and co-director at the WILD KIDS animation studio.
